Its been a very eye opening journey. I walked into this deal looking at it like it's ONLY A LEASE. Money hasn't been horrible but it hasn't been great either. My recruiter was pretty upfront with me- (Lacey).
Your fixed expenses each week are 880. Then add on fuel, maint program, lease incentive, etc. Usually looking at a weekly average of 1800-1900 expenses. Expect compensation to be around 3,000 weekly. So you walk away with 1K a week being a glorified company driver on the lease program stuck doing 64. You can get bumped up to 68, if you go onto a fuel surcharge- but in all honesty, for the way this program is set up- you can't make it by doing that unless you run 2450 miles or more weekly or are a team. Hirschbach has also gotten rid of the percentage pay and no longer accepting owner operators. We are at a hiring freeze with the exception of dedicated out of Smithfield ( greenfield Indiana) where I've sat on average 34 hours and wasn't paid a dime until after 24 hours( lay over pay). Have to fight for every penny unless you have a great DM.

I'm on my 3rd DM who is actually on top of #### and the best DM I've had.
So, to pay rates- its based on a mileage rate.

1-20= 2.62
21-75= 1.77
76-150= 1.62
151-275= 1.47
276-425= 1.22
426-600= 1.12
601-800= 1.05
891-1000= 1.02
1001-1200= .97
1201-1800= .90
1800+= .86

2nd stop= 50
3rd + stop= 100 each stop.

They do give you your routing and fuel. Choose not to agree to it, you might get fined for extra out of route mileage or extra fuel. Fuel then jumps from 99 cents a gallon to 1.24 a gallon. 50 gallons are allotted as an emergency fund. As for routing , company pays tolls and all that crap but if your out of route they charge you for it.

After you deduct your federal and state taxes, medical insurance your back to the same pay working as a company driver, except now you have all the headaches.

You do have to make sure that they pay you correctly and you have to get them to put things in writing. If you get called to do a relay you can negotiate a price. Like a $150 bonus for doing the run. I averaged $1894 a week with them as take home pay. Remembering that you have to pay taxes out of that money is a pain but the Donald will help.

Now I am sure you want to know why I was fired. I got my truck turned up to 68 at an International dealership. That was a no no. I also let my truck run downhill as long as it stays with in the legal limits. Those two things were frowned on. Then I broke a cab extender off jack knifing into a dock. I got called in and fire by someone who did not have the guts to do it to my face.

Anyway, I highly recommend the company but as I am tired of being fired I am buying my own truck now.

they know what to fix, they don't want to fix it, it's all a money game. Hire a drive and keep as much money in your pocket as you can. That's what Capitalism is all about,

Hirschbach is run by really good business people. They don't give you a penny more then they have to. I think that is fair but never think of them as friends. The folks that work with you are but those who review what is going on have hearts made of stone. Keep that in mind and you will be okay.

I`m goint to orientation with them on December 5th, they were the only ones that took me with 8 months otr experience from the differents companies I applied for, I guess I will have to bite the bullet here for the meantime.
