I had to take a cdl physical for the school I’m attending. Long story short when it came to boxes asking about alcohol and tobacco I checked yes. They make you elaborate and then when the doctor was giving me my physical she asked me questions about my drinking and smoking. She then wrote on my form that I am a drinker 2-3 drinks and deny drinking at workplace, and that I’m a tobacco user but deny shortness of breath. My question is this for the school only or will any employer be able to see all that information, and if so is that going to look bad or affect job placement negatively. Like more safety sensitive positions or insurance purposes. I know sometimes honesty isn’t the best option, but it’s too late and written in bold letters on my physical. Does this matter? And will it be available to employers and or matter to them? And if i do another physical will the past ones information be out the window?

Is this on the long form or just in the file notes? If on the long form, then yea your potential employer will see that notation.

Thing about medical notation. If you answer no to any question, the notes will always say “denied” what ever the question is. It is the way things are documented, don’t worry about that.

It’s on the form I filled out that she in turn wrote a note in the box. Asked me how many copy’s I wanted. Not sure really but I’m assuming definitely so, is this a bad look for my career to my potential employers? Will this matter or affect anything, and if I do another physical down the road will this still be available to them/dot

It really is not something to worry about. People consume alcoholic beverages and smoke tobacco. It will be on file with any employer you are with. Will it hurt your potential career. Shouldn’t. Something that is occasional and with at least 8 hours or more to on duty time, you should not have a problem. Now if your consuming alcoholic beverages while on the job, then that’s a problem. It could end your career in transportation. Know a hand full of people that have lost their CDL due to arrest for UI incidents.

Under drinking I put no alcohol consumption.
Under ethnicity I put Irish, Native American.
Under notes he put likely former alcoholic.
    Smart doctor.

Alcoholic Beverages are legal to but, own, but are illegal to drink.
You gotta be locked in your house to drink.

They used to bust people with public intoxication for drinking on front porch.

That's a sneaky way of saying she thinks the driver is lying.
