Have a 98 12.7 detroit. Yesterday, I had to jump start the truck. Had a miss and had throttle response. This morning, I put on new batteries and fired right up, but still has a miss and now no throttle response. Checked all connections and everything seems to be good. My voltage gauge shows 14v. All fluids are good. Any help is appreciated.

Have you changed Fuel filters yet? Check the wires at plug in at the fuel pedal? `

Check power across your two small fuses. Check their ends also, and small ground

They get changed every oil change, I’ve got about 3k more miles to go before my next pm. I was actually thinking of changing fuel filters since it’s an easy option.

One bad fuel stop can have you changing fuel filters 3 times a day till all of it gets run out of your tanks, you have to carry plenty spares in the side box.

    Concorde Thanks this.

Connect software and drive for a cut-out test - if all else is OK, then cylinder cut out test for faulty injector?

Any codes? I’d suspect the throttle pedal sensor itself. Maybe check it for power coming in first. I’m sure there’s a procedure for testing it with a voltmeter.

I got the throttle issue resolved. It was a bad ground, and dirty battery terminals but still getting a rough idle. Going to change fuel filters to see if it helps

baha, Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this.
