Getting axles to scale

    Pulling a 48' East spread axle with an FLD 120. Weighs 29-30k empty. Put on a load of 44' steel beams today, loaded in the center of the trailer. Tried to roll on the scale easy to check my axle weights. Gross was 73640. Front axle 10120, drives 29080, front trailer axle 14480, back trailer axle 19960. Had 2 - 4x4's stacked on the back under the beams. I will try to post some pictures of the load in the morning. Ran out of daylight tonight.

    How can I get more weight on the tractor drives? Only have about 1 1/2' to move forward to the bulkhead with the beams. I have a toolbox on the truck frame so not much room to slide the fifth wheel unless I move things around. Just want to get an idea soni can do a better job of loading. Some of the loaders at these mills are always in a hurry, but don't want to get an overweight ticket.

    Nothing on this load, but if I load 50' my rear trailer axle will be over.

    But you're allowed 40k on a spread? Can you pull the bulkhead?

    Although I have never pulled spread axles, if I’m not mistaken, do you have only a 4x4 under the front, and only 1 way in the back? From my view(just an iPhone), your trailer bed is slightly bowed up in the center? Put 1 or 2 4x4’s near the center of the load should draw the center down, putting more weight on your forward trailer axle.
    If you want more weight on your drives, you should move that front 4x4 father forward. If your not running on slippery roads you have plenty on your drives and steers the way you are. Just an opinion from an old fuel hauler, am I wrong?

    Why would the trailer axles be that far different? Is the trailer not sitting level? You’re not overweight but I don’t see how your going to be able to get 40k on the spread in the future without overloading one axle
