    Anyone have anything on Quantix ? They are advertising here in upstate NY for dry bulk tank drivers. I've heard they are or were affiliated with A&R in some way, other than that I know nothing about them.

    I haven't pulled a dry bulk tank since 1995 so I'm guessing a refresher course would be required..

    What I was told by a friend that works there was the Quantix bought A&R.

    He is in southern Indiana, only haul plastic where he is at, might be different in other locations, I don't know.

    Trucks were faster than mine (72) and there was some difference in how they were paid versus how I am paid at Bulkmatic but overall pay was low comparitively speaking. I was making in 4 days whay he was making in 5. Could be different in different areas.

    Thanks.
    I think they are loading off the rails here so it's probably frac sand or cement. I'm going to dig into this some more.

    What bulkmatic facility do you work out of?

    I pull my loads out of any of a half dozen places in the Chicago area.

    @Tall Mike
    Spoke with my buddy who is still there yesterday but had moved over to a loader position and is much happier now.

    He said overall like any other place, good and bad, dispatch spends part of the time with their head where the sun don't shine. Also said you can make money in his area but only if your willing to stay out during the week and sleep in the truck. Home daily won't cut it.

    No problem. Like everything else I say, take it with a grain of salt, plus your area may function totally different than his does,

    A&R was bought out last year by Quantix. Quantix is a group of investors who not only bought A&R but also a few other smaller sized family owned bulk and liquid companies. I worked for A&R back when the old man and son still ran the business and it was one of the better paying jobs in the Chicago land area. Since the son was killed in a boating accident the old man lost a lot of interest with the company then sold it to Quantix when he got in to some legal problems with the IRS is what I was told. In the beginning after the sale, many drivers left because change wasn’t so good pay wise from what some of my buddies said that still worked there. Within the last few months Quantix must be starting to realize that this industry is already short on drivers let alone specialized drivers so they are now advertising in the Chicago land $100,000/year home daily on indeed. I work for a premium bulk carrier Hoffman Transportation out of Channahon IL, also small family business owned (135-150 trucks)
    But the Christian mind family takes great care of us. Great equipment, 100% paid benefits for us and of families and potential to make 120,000 to 180,000 a year depending if your a slacker ($80,000) or a hard charger. Average Joe still does $120,000 pretty easily here. Anyways, I hope this helps. Quantix has to stay proactive on their pay and be consistent with it in years to come if they want to compete in this industry. Best of luck.

    Hoffmann is still one of the best companies to work for if you can get hired.
