i was at a amazon dock backing in. this guy driving bobtail pulls next to my truck comes out of his truck willing to help me and guide me into the spot. As he is directing me he says i hit his trailer, found out it was his trailer to the right where i was backing. i got out of the truck im about 5 inches away from his trailer, his attitude changes quickley saying you need to pay for this when he was the one helping me back into the dock kinda felt deceived by him if i did hit his trailer it was because he guided me into it. anways i went to get the security of amazon to see any videos by the camera if i hit or not he said he will get back to us both. if I'm at fault does this go on my record? i do work for a mega carrier been driving 3 months. What happens from here need advice

That whole thing smacks of a driver trying to blame you for something that he probably did to his own trailer.
Even if someone is 'helping' you back in, always get out and look if you are unsure of anything.alds, Coffey, Geekonthestreet and 11 others Thank this. -
Did you get pictures?

If you can get the video that will help but unfortunately if it shows you did cause the damage they are going to blame you for it because they will say you should have been looking. On the other hand there is hope you didn't hit his trailer and he's set you up in order to blame you for something he did..good luck!
Coffey, rookie2pro, tscottme and 4 others Thank this. -
But more importantly... If I'm doing something that requires a spotter, have I been creative enough to make it easier on myself?alds, Geekonthestreet, tscottme and 5 others Thank this. -
This is why I’m hesitant to help anyone back into anything.
1. they might not understand my English.
2. they might not understand my commands.
3. they might blame me for their stupidity.
Always get out and look. Amazon will review the tapes and might not even give them to you, but will give it to your carrier, if they are large enough for Amazon to comply with.Last edited: Sep 10, 2022

Nothing more you can do.
Dont lose sleep about it. You didnt say what damage there was. I have to believe if there was enough damage to his trailer that "you had to pay" you probably would have felt a bump....CrappieJunkie Thanks this. -
He assumed blame when he was the guide.
