Just put a fresh pair of Yokohama steers on, just under $1000 installed. Had Bridgestone 283’s before($1100)and they were great tires I just hate that outter edge groove because it wears down faster than the rest of the tire and I don’t need any more hassle off DOT. The Yokos have a larger outer tread with no small groove.
Tire cost just hit 2.4cpm, tractor only???

Lol i wish it worked that way. Oh well cost of doing what i do. My all time favorite was having my less then 100 miles brand new steer tire literally eat a rock all the way in and go instantly flat.
Then there was the hammer incident where a worktruck dropped a toolbox into the road right after cutting me off and i couldnt dodge because barriers and traffic. (Also a ton of other damage like knocking a baseball sized hole in my hydro tank, smashing an airbag mount, ripping out a few air lines, smashing a big dent into my landing gear and a few other things but hay)
Or this time where i went into an icy slate pit and slide sideways a few inches after the loader dumped a bucket in.
And yes ive since replaced my flap hangers.Last edited: Sep 24, 2022

Both of those statements are absolutely ridiculous. They might be "rare" wherever you're based but they aren't rare in the farm, bulk, dump or logging arenas at all.Last edited: Sep 24, 2022

Firestone steers were good on price 2 months ago.$675 each in Houston.

My math brain failed me earlier today. I just realized that $0.11 per mile is higher than 2.4CPM ($0.024 per mile, right?).
I think the way the title was written threw me off.Oxbow Thanks this. -
No otr truck has them as standard equipment.
That makes them as rare as cat, since they are no longer even options on any OTR trucks whatsoever. -
CPM is cents per mile and it's what we break everything down on in a trucking business. I'm sure they use a different term in canada, but nobody really cares about the pseudo country called Canada

Michelin isn’t producing any 24.5 tires, they haven’t been for a while. The diehard Michelin guys are switching to 22.5 when it’s tire time.bzinger, Oxbow, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this.
