That tire was fine, still had 450,000 miles left in it.

Well, the electricity issues in the hurricane strike zone must be over. All the way up to the TWIC office and back it was a steady stream of electric service trucks heading north out of the state. Friends of our said they're having a major housing shortage for the crews coming in to help out because the hotels are full of residents that evacuated so some are in tents and stringing up hammocks between their trucks. Sounds like our governor needs to donate some of the national guard tents with a/c units they use over in the middle east...

Well Friday I delivered this pain in my ### safe and sound. That last 40 miles into Plano was brutal. Low wires, low lights, low intelligence drivers. 9D1CE987-03AB-43AD-B42F-C70061D1521D.jpeg

bounced up to Wichita to grab this preload trailer going to LA. 48B01AA6-D846-4893-A53F-38DAD0906FAA.jpeg A04A5E50-C2EC-4745-B20F-C7D9D0119ABE.jpeg

Now I’m heading to Portland with 14’ wide tank heads. No tarp so I’ll take it. E697EE9D-EF2B-486E-9701-1EBB1780A2BF.jpeg

Wow...someone else who sees the benefit of roping a tarp instead of rubber bungies. I saw a Kivi Bros with upsidedown flying saucers like those the other day.

I’m an “old” glass hauler that went to hauling air craft parts. I use rope more then bungees.

Plus I saw how COTC does their ends and it basically folds the extra tarp for you. Now if only our trailers had hooks. Fumbling around with loose hooks in the dark was pretty frustrating.

I miss the hooks for rope we had on Moore's double drops. Made securing tarps way faster.

Question in 1st pic is the grey tube/pipe going over the top to aid in helping lines and branches slide over the top?

MartinFromBC and 4mer trucker Thank this.

Correct. That load was 17’ tall. The pipes help prevent the lines getting snagged on the tarp/ load. Only had one snag in 4200 miles. As soon as I stopped, the wire got it’s actually together and slid off. D09ADE1A-9C32-421B-821D-3586F481CE83.jpeg

Looks like the OD loads get larger tarps than us regular freight guys. Are they a lighter weight tarp so you don't have to have a forklift or a crane to help put them back on your trailer once you're empty and have them rolled back up?

MartinFromBC, kylefitzy and Lonesome Thank this.
