Can anyone help me locate the VIN on a 1994 Volvo/White/GMC WHL cabover. I could not locate a VIN in the drivers side door jam or the dashboard. I checked on the outside of the frame rails around the front tire on both sides and inside the near the engine as best I could, and could not find any trace of a VIN.

I even went to a local salvage where they had an older white cabover and I found the VIN in the frame rails in about two minutes but mine are not in the same location.

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

If it isn't stamped on the frame i would be a little concerned.

On newer Volvos it's stamped on the frame, kinda above the shock absorber area

Thanks wichris, I tried scraping the oil and dirt off the frame but it's a little tough to see between the engine and frame with all the air lines running through the same area.

I did go to a local salvage yard that had an old white cabover less motor and trans, and I found the VIN on the inside of the driver's side frame rail in a minute. I hoped that would tell me where I might find it on mine, but no luck. :(

If you just bought the truck, call the state patrol to come look at it. Had a Pete a long time ago that had the frame rail replaced due to an accident and had to have it re-stamped.
