So, I apparently have 10 service failures that I had no knowledge about until yesterday. I'm trying to see how they are my fault when my shipper doesn't load till it's too late to get to my destination. I always communicate with my dm or whomever is on the staff that night if there is any issue. I just don't get it. I haul beef, at night and I'm a dedicated driver. All I do is work hard, very little home time 70+ hours a week (not including the hours spent at shippers and receivers). How do I fix this?

You cannot fix other people's mistakes. All you can do is communicate the situation to your company. "Hey, I'm still here at DGAF Warehouse and nobody has loaded/unloaded anything. If I am not rolling out of here in 30 minutes I WILL BE LATE at ABC Warehouse. Then once you start rolling communicate your best estimate of your ETA to the next customer, plus a small margin for a bathroom break, traffic, delay getting fuel, etc.

The boss bought the truck with the speed limited to the speed he chose. The roads are as long as they were built to be by the engineers, and the speed limits are what they are posted to be. If the warehouse foreman soils his pants or your boss drives into the corner of the building at work it will be your fault because that is how trucking works.

I would suggest documenting stuff with screen shots and whatnot.

Just find another company to drive for..perhaps a big boy company that doesn’t count “service failures”, lol

Sounds like you work for a nanny company.

I can't add anything else to what others have said. The way I see it.....you have a job. As long as you're working and getting paid, don't worry about stats like that. If they decide to fire over service failures, then you'll land on your feet quickly. Not only that, everybody knows how it is hauling meat of any kind, its always delays. If they haven't fired you after 10 service failures, they understand what you're going through.

Thanks, I know most things are out of my control in this industry but I just want to stick with it for a few more months so I can "retire" from truck driving.
