I’ve never seen the logic of guys who buy a truck with no knowledge of how to make money.There logic is I have a spotless record 20 years of experience and always on time I’ll buy a truck and just run lots of miles .That’s a good truck driver doesn’t mean a good business person tho.Anytime your plan is buy a truck and lease it to a company you’re just buying a job.Some might need to do it depending on where they might live most others would be better off getting a good company jopThe original post here mentions the good agents left they should have seen an opportunity there call those guys talk to them about what if I got my own authority and broker loads from you.You already have a relationship with the guy if he’s is a good agent as they say it can work really well.That’s how I started I worked with a guy in the transportation department of a textile mill he was leaving to start his own brokerage business it worked great for me.

 

Landstar does NOT hire drivers.... if you don't understand why I would say that, it may explain why you are having such a hard time.

Only if you are the type that needs your hand held. If you are leased to a carrier that pretty much lets you run your business as you see fit....and you go broke.... YOU are the problem.
