What this article fails to mention is that for the few days it ran, it was incredible. Greenhouse gases dropped to zero, Pepsi employees no longer had asthma, and the temperature was 10 degrees cooler due to less emissions.
The only downside is corporate virtue signaling has been temporarily suspended. -
It even rained in California!
TheLoadOut, Rideandrepair, 4mer trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's a truck on the hook. Big effin deal. Why is everyone so scared of new tech?
D.Tibbitt, nredfor88, TheLoadOut and 5 others Thank this. -
You trying to turn this place into another Electrek? You’re already getting @Crude Truckin's panties in a wad.
TheLoadOut and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
According to an article I read somewhere, the Frito trucks were reported to be draining the batteries faster than expected pulling the lights weight load of chips. They were worried that the Pepsi trucks wouldn't get anywhere close to the advertised range pulling the heavy soft drinks.

This is a political thing, not a trucking thing. You won't see most truckers on board with this until they take a pic of a Tesla truck in a giant MAGA hat. LolD.Tibbitt, 12 ga, LTLTRUCKDRIVER and 4 others Thank this.

I haul crude too and am equally indifferent to electric semis. If they work, great! Use them.
What bothers me is the childish utopianism, naivety and outright lying about the technical specs of electric trucks.
The electricity that powers these electric semis is still going to come from generators powered by fossil fuels as well. As someone who halls 950 barrels of the dark stuff a night, I’m fine with it, -
Because they are effin ugly. That alone bothers me.
InTooDeep, 12 ga, TheLoadOut and 1 other person Thank this. -
