Just had a few questions hoping to get some insight, I recently changed the turbo on my 1998 460/1650 N14 celectplus engine, after install and first fire up she sounded like she back fired after pulling everything apart found no issues so back together and start up #2 was normal, oil psi is as it always was 38-40 running down the road(1475-1550rpms) and 20+psi at idle(725rpms) I had also changed the oil at same time so it was fresh for turbo, since running this new turbo I feel it's a little weak in top 3 gears but pulling mountains out west hasn't really changed speed up them, turbo psi is never the same tho it kind of just does its own thing, sometimes it will push 33-34, sometimes barely 30psi, I've pulled exhaust and intake off few times checking everything and looks normal no play no oil, today I noticed it's wet on the back of intake housing, there is no oil going into the CAC, and none in exhaust, So I'm not sure why it's wet here, when I got the turbo I did have to loosen the clamps and turn the housings a little to match my engine ports, but tightened it back down(I don't know a torque for them so I went snug with one hand short rachet) I've never had a turbo wet on the intake side before so a little stumped
Engine history, it has some blow by, Cummins ran compression test on all cylinders and 3&4 are weak, rings letting some air past them but he said it wasn't that bad, and said it was in spec for the blowby test under load. You can pull the oil cap while running and see it lightly puffing but can't really feel it on your hand hitting it. (The tests were done before turbo swap). Miles are unknown on engine, I've owned it for over a year now and hadn't had many issues with it
Also after turbo swap it went from using 1gal of oil every3-3500 miles down to 2300-2500 miles, mpg also down a little bit, I run oil analysis every service and so far they say it's fine, no fuel no water dilutions ( I don't understand how to read them fully so I have to rely on my local catapillar techs that send me the reports)
Any help is appreciated I will include a.picture of what I'm seeing on turbo as well as oil reports maybe someone can see something I can't if there is an issue
