I give a less than a #### about scales these days. I am avoiding truck drivers most of the time. I have driven from San Diego to the Omaha area, and the only interstate I drove on was I-8 to Yuma, and 6 or so miles of I-40 at Flagstaff, and I think 1 or 2 miles of I-25 near Walsenburg, CO. It was a #### good trip. Almost all of my driving is at night, so I would have long stretches most of the 4 days or so not seeing any other traffic.

9 times out of 10, they were tipped off by someone. Usually the Drug Kingpins themselves. They throw the Authorities a bone, while the real mother load gets delivered. The whole war on drugs campaign is a sham. Everyone from the Dealers to the Politicians, and every level of Law enforcement benefits from illegal drug money one way or another. There’s no real incentive to stop it completely. Too much revenue is made, and converted into legitimate revenue, and pumped into our economy. The Jurisdiction that confiscates the drugs, gets paid 50% of the street value. If they confiscate cash, they keep 100%. The Federal Authorities are involved, using Drug money to finance covert activities. Dark money goes to Politicians pockets. Everyone pretends they’re against the illegal Drug trade. Yet it somehow continues to be rampant.

Real truck driving and Steering wheel holding started around 20 years ago when trucks began to just be big easy to drive Toyota Camry’s. This ultimately caused trucking to be the fall back bottom of the barrel down and out last resort job to get out of poverty. Lose your 150k a year office job? No problem you can just get a truck and go!
Then in 2008 the anti-diesel and truck government took hold, forever indoctrinating the general population to hate the evil dirty killer trucks.
Along with new Residential and commercial development all across the states that have built around being anti truck. Curbs, islands, trees, landscaping, and needed room. How many new places built within that time have easy and or inviting access for truck deliveries? I can go on.

I can see why people hate truck drivers now.
I was asleep Friday night at a small quiet fuel stop, by a residential area, everyone had their trucks shut down, I was woken up about midnight by a guy (Dallas Trucking, from DallasTX) trying to back beside me with his radio on Full Volume.
My windows were up and my radio on low. as i always sleep with radio/tv on to knock out most outside noise.

Anyway, this idiot couldn’t back in, probably because he couldn’t think with the spanish music full volume, so about 15 minutes of him backing up scooting over setting brakes, easing up, set brakes, back up, set brakes, pull completely out then back in, set brakes, pull up.
Have brake line screaming in pain, pull up.
    Set brakes.

Fast idle engine to about 11-1200, engine fan kicking off/on, full volume radio for another 10 minutes (guess his post trip) he finally turned music down.

    So.
I got up at 0300, the walmart truck to my right was gone but Dallas guy was still there.
I started my truck, let it warm up, fast idled, got my clothes on, got out, slammed door.
walked inside got me a cup of coffee, came back and got in truck, slammed door.

I know he won’t even know why someone would do this to him.
If it’d been a normal spot, i’d rather have turned my radio full volume and left door open door.
But i didn’t want to be like the idiot.

A few years ago I had one of those guys next to me , I asked to turn it down and he told me to buck off .
I was under an empty trailer and it was hot out so I fired up the unit and set it at -20 .
    He moved .

Was actually wondering why we put up with the nonsense but I’m beginning to see, it’s the ones washing feet in sink while smelling like they just rolled in rotten meat and bone meal or the ones who can’t speak a word of engrish (spelled that way purposely) or the ones playing games on phone while driving and crashing into something or someone.
