Loving these new all electric/hydrogen Nikola semis! I’ve hauled 3 in the last few weeks back to Eloy for repairs! Keep them coming. I’m down with the green movement, I love the “green” that goes in my pocket!![]()

I’ve been out of the flatbed game for some time so thank you all for the help. I just hate to make new threads for quick topics.
Buying equipment from scratch general DAT load freight how much of each would you carry and should I do 4ft and 6ft tarps or 4ft and 8ft tarps. I don’t really want to tarp 8ft tall but if a decent amount of freight requires it I’m willing to.
8ft dunnage
Beveled dunnage
Coil racks
Steel edge protectorssinglescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt, cke and 2 others Thank this. -
3 pc at 8 ft true 4x4
2 pc 4.5 ft beveled dunnage true 4x4
2 pc 4.5 ft square dunnage true 4x4
4 racks (i have the angled heavy duty ones, not the flimsy sheet metal versions)
0 steel edge protectors, if i need edge protection on a coil, i have the heavy duty felt pads
Tarps, I think if youre all over the place, 6 footers will sometimes be worth the extra sweat but I only carry 4 footers, I did my time with 8 footers, the pay is almost always worse for loads needing those where I amsinglescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt, cke and 5 others Thank this. -

No full load pictures, but monday to tuesday, ill have to ream out the loaders when i drop my trailer on friday. Structural steel stairwell, absolutely no thought about how maybe we should not be shipping it oversize on both sides when it didnt need to be, 10k in front, 20k in rear, narrower on bottom than the top and optimistically relying on wood to not snap, and my favorite, blocking under a wider peice that was 3/4 of an inch under the bottom of the steel, with straps and chains that wood was still clearing the steel it was supposed to be supporting by 3/8 inch.
Luckily i have the keys to the place and the forklift, but not a happy start to the week
