    Awesome. Thanks for reminding me about the trucks. That's definitely a requirement of mine. Slip-seating is fine for local work, but I won't sleep in a bed that gets swapped every other week. They're supposed to be assigned, or at least that's what the recruiter says

    They were.
    Shop would fix what you wrote up, could stop by the shop and ask them to ping it to save you walking all over the huge lot and they’ll give you vicinity of where they parked it.

    MSWS Thanks this.

    Awesome. Since you did OTR with 6 days home per month, maybe you could answer something for me. I know OTR can technically go anywhere in the lower 48, but I was thinking that having to get drivers home every other week would place some limitations on how far they can send somebody. How far on average would you say you'd go from home before they'd have to start routing you back? Did you do one region a lot or was it more of a mix?

    You don't need to ask anymore - you can pull up the location of any truck on your tablet - provided its within 3 miles of you.

    Judge and MSWS Thank this.

    Furthest I've gone is 1,500 miles from the house, and still returned by end of the week. And that was in a 60 mph truck with a student. I like it when they send me far out initially because that means that have to get me back - guaranteed miles.

    Can any current or recent drivers for Schneider tell me if they're still requiring sleep studies for some applicants who go to orientation? I was reading some older threads about it, but I haven't come across anything since 2021. I'd ask my recruiter but I'm a liitle nervous that it would be like saying to a cop: "You're not gonna look in the trunk are you?"

    Ask them what criteria triggers the sleep study. You either meet them or don't so it's not like you're sending up red flags.

    MSWS Thanks this.

    I think I will. I don't have any symptoms of sleep apnea and I've never been told to get tested

    @MSWS --

    Food for thought: you really ought to start a seperate thread in the "Tanker, Bulk, & Dump Trucking" section....and do a sort of "diary" or "journal" of your upcoming experiences with Schneider Bulk--with the onboarding, the training...and beyond.

    Tell it all--the good, the bad....and the ugly. No sugar-coating. :cool:
