Just bought this truck probably put 9k miles on it. Weird noise when running hard. Sounds like a freight train was wondering if this is normal for a x15 450 high efficiency 2019. 420k miles. Still under factory warranty so I wanna know if I should get this checked out. Might just be my paranoia, thanks in advance for any help!!

I have the same thing on my 22 performance. Pulling hard in 1500-1600 rpm usually in 17 gear doing about 65 mph but also in other gears. Took it everywhere including Cummins. Fuel pump was not aligned, they fixed that. Made it a tad quieter but noise and vibration is still there. Sounds like a Blackhawk helicopter. No body seems to know what noise is. Great video. I showed them mine too. No help on issue. When this guy blows I’m not rebuilding. Gonna put in a 60 series or N14.
Vampire and Procanadianbudeh Thank this. -
Does it always do that on a hard pull? almost sounds like a regen in progress.
Procanadianbudeh Thanks this. -
Emission motors don’t like to rev to 2000 rpm . Many will cut back on power to maintain emissions.. check out a power curve graph on your engine you might be surprised.

It's not at 2k it's at around 1800 the analog tach is reading a little high, I should of said it's got 400k miles on it but I have only put 9k on it

I’ll say what an old boss of mine said when I told him the truck sounded weird.
“Just run it, if it breaks then we will know what the problem is.”
That truck still going and it’s got like 1.2 million last i looked.Procanadianbudeh Thanks this. -

OMG that's high RPM's! That's why!
I've never had an older truck over 1550 and my 2022 X15 never over 1650. Anything over that sounds like asking for trouble.
My 6nz runs 1300 and doesn't know what a load is!
New ones have no power at all until at higher rpm but that's too much. New trucks have no low end torque at all. I think they rigged it that way for higher RPMs and more heat to burn cleaner. IMO -
I haven’t heard an X15 not sound like that under a load.
AModelCat and Deezl Smoke Thank this. -
My 2021 x15 500 e sounds like that at any rpm.
If you don't have the gears, then fine, 2k rpm might be manageable, but if you have another gear that can keep it closer to 1500, it would sure help the fuel usage and longevity.Vampire Thanks this.
