If you want a bit of a brain/physical challenge, there's always flatbed/platform. I was bored to tears after 10 years of just holding a steering wheel pulling wiggle wagons, that's when she retired and I bought the truck.
Almost 10 years later, I get a similar feeling lately - I find it real hard lately to get in the truck and go, nervous, upset stomach, shaky. When I finally get out and focused on the job I'm fine, it's that initial push that is getting harder to muster.
If any of that makes sense to you.
6 years OTR but struggling to get back in it

As an aside, I hope you have an address of file so you can take advantage of the meal allowance, tax wise..
Another Canadian driver and DeathByCheetos Thank this. -
No that 100% makes sense to me. It was similar after my 3rd year. I would dread getting back in the truck and find all the excuses in the world not to go but when i finally got in the truck all the worrys were gone because it had me focus* ran mostly i80 and i90* i know drivers hate driving winter but for me it always has felt enjoyable especially when you correct a slide while passing 10 or more trucks in the ditch LOL and you being the only one on the road. But now an days it just all feels like as soon as i get in the truck i already feel like getting out. As if i just finished the 3 months out non stop but still only on week one.*** I don't mean to sound full of myself with this*** I also most certainly never tried my luck when weather got REALLY bad. Like cant see the 3 trailers ahead of you pile up waiting to happen kind of bad. Reason i keep a clean record with that kind of drivingLast edited: Feb 26, 2023

I had a moment during start of covid where i really went out for way longer then normal to pay off this truck i was buying then turn around and sell the truck for a very nice profit. But ever since then i have been feeling just really burnt out and i haven't been able to figure out how to shake it.

After about a decade in the business, I got burnt-out, so I went back to college and got my degree. I found that moving companies were always looking for guys with class A CDLs, so I worked as a bed-bugger over summer vacations, and did some weekend work between the moving company and a couple local truckload delivery companies. Heck, I made almost double what most college students made on their part-time jobs. Got my degree, and today make ~$60k on a job where I ONLY work 7-3:30, 5 days a week (I'm winding down for retirement in the next 2-3 years).
The fact is, trucking will always be essentially what it is now. If you can't find a company that has a schedule that works for you, then find another way to make a living.DeathByCheetos, Another Canadian driver and lual Thank this. -
Aged 27? Single...with no kids? Feeling just really "burnt out"?
There's really just only one possible option left....
Could it be that your love life has maybe spent too much time sitting in the parking lot (even up on blocks)?
Has it been too long since the right date took you "through the gears"?
Maybe you need to mix up something of a real social life along with that trucking life.....
