You know I held that letter they sent in the console of my jeep for about 2 months thinking of something smart to say on it and send it back......
I thought better of it and through it out last week.....Vampire Thanks this. -
Ripped that page out my atlas years ago

I felt it as an insult to all drivers who helped the states out all during covid, even getting sick/dying hauling freight to keep vital goods moving.
I came down bad sick myself and took3 months to get over it before it all got known starting that end December ‘18 to Last of February.
Then we hear about it big time.
Then got sick again, never went to doctor or hospital, figuring like I was raised, “If your sick, Die and prove it.” I stayed parked til i got over it.
Back out again. in the midst of things like so many others.
But then to add a tax upon truckers, like everyone does when they’re broke, was an insult.
History Lesson!!

Any lawyer who thinks they can win will do it. They recover legal fees, and can rack up millions in charges.Vampire Thanks this.

That was an interesting article. I haven't seen much reaction from OOIDA on this situation, it seems like something right up their alley, and if they say they are there fighting for the little guy, this is one they should be looking into. I hope the in state carriers did raise their rates, and it would be so great if out of stater's just blew it off completely. I feel sorry for those operating there. At the end of the year the money they had to pay out for the wonderful privilege of driving on their roads could have much better spent by the company or individual. I would much rather use that money on maintenance, a vacation, retirement funding, kids college tuition, groceries, heck a Slim Jim and a Coke! Anything other than handing it over to that state. I ran the letter right through my shredder.

The ATA sued Rhode Island on their truck only toll program. Interesting that they have been quiet about this one.
