I recently received a tip on ODFL and currently digging into their pay structure, average run and potential daily earnings, if you dont mind sharing. Specifically in the Raleigh, NC area, but any area is welcomed.
Thank you

OD driver here that runs linehaul out of the midwest. Right now we're pretty slow and they're actually eliminating dock and drivers at different locations across the country. I'm surprised they're hiring at any location. Our pay structure is .7688cpm, $34.08 hourly plus drop/hook and fueling. The drops and hooks are paid $8.40 to drop a full set and $8.40 to hook a full set. I made $136,000 last year. I'm home daily running 3,090 miles a week. I do a meet and turn and with no issues it takes me 9hrs/45mins from gate to gate. I've been here 10yrs and love it. I should have came to OD 25yrs ago. All linehaul runs are bid out based on seniority. Extra-board drivers get the miles when we're busy but you'll set at home when we're slow.kylefitzy, DayliteDean, BennysPennys and 5 others Thank this.

Thank you very much for the info, although I'm sure the numbers are a bit different out here, it definitely gives insight. I may go drop a resume, since they don't have any opening posted right now, and try my luck. -
To the fourth decimal point!

They posted a line haul position here in Southern California in January. I applied immediately, recruiter called within 3 days, then everything went radio silent. Just was contacted for an in-person interview a couple days ago. Heck yes I want to drive at ODFL, but it’s concerning there’s no urgency to fill the spot. We’ll see what happens…

Good luck!

If you do one of these linehaul jobs in California are you really supposed to drive 55mph at night on the open road? Do they pay by the hour?

I ran nights last year at a previous job in CA. The LTL guys were always running 60-65.
