If it was more transparent it’d be scary.

That is their go to line... let them know that your bumper is held in place with bolts, not duct tape and move on

I’d say it’s a transparent Lie. You can see right through it. Yuk Yuk. I’m not at all surprised. I’m sure it got covered for $1000. I’ve been to Chicago 3 times this year. The markets definitely changed from 10-15 yrs ago. First Load I ever pulled in 04 was $750 from Racine to Detroit. About $2 pm. Fuel was high, it had recently doubled from $1.25 to $2.50 gal. I thought I was rolling in the dough. Lol. Anyone’s guess, no one works for free. He may be charging $1200, maybe $1500. Doesn’t matter, he’s only going to pay what he needs to. Truckers can criticize the Brokers all they want. I’d do the same myself, no apologies either. You know as well as I do, that’s how it works. The load I just delivered Chicago to Atlanta paid $1800 on 751 miles. Taking 65-24-75. $2.40 pm. I’m sure that’s the cheapest Load for that lane ever pulled by anyone in history. But it was the best I could find. And for now, I keep my house, and we’re able to eat. So it goes. Someday I’ll be rich from Trucking, like so many others I’ve seen come and go the years. Mo money, Mo money, Mo money!

After I thought about it again, it wasn't such an obvious lie to me anymore.
Those brokers, during euphoric times, also proliferate like mushrooms after rain. So, they too, may be selling themselves cheap to secure those accounts.
The important difference is that I am the one who pays for the fuel, and they don't.

Dating her is like hauling cheap freight. No one admits to it, yet she’s never lonely. Lol.

I never precisely adored too skiny girls either. So ... her NOT being lonely wouldn't suprise me at all.

Everyone’s competing. Might do above average for a while, but eventually it all averages out. If it didn’t the whole system would fail.
