Parked in Cheyenne, WY - road was closed on I-80 west earlier.
Parked next to a spot that a Covenant team backed into. He has his headlights on high beam shining down the lane where drivers will be coming into looking for parking due to the weather.
I popped next door and said “ Hey - can you turn your headlights off in that truck? “
Nice and friendly - I don’t know if it’s a truck setting that prevents him from doing so.
Immediately starts yelling at me to mind my own business and get back in my truck. Then turns his lights off.
Good job training Covenant - etiquette is not on the top of your list.
Note to new drivers - shut your lights off when parked - turn off when moving slowly in truck stops if practical.
Truck 231296 - I hope you leave the industry safely and quickly.
Trash.
What not to do as a Covenant driver

I turn them off while parked, but never while driving at night, even in a parking lot.

He probably didn't know it has a headlight switch ..
I carry a couple rolls of 90mph tape .. I would of just taped his headlights.. he could pull the tape off when he did his pre trip

He'll be on here in a few days either complaining about how receivers treat him, or asking why someone would pull his 5th wheel.

If he was ever a member here, his attitude probably got him booted....
I'll comment seriously though about headlights on new trucks. I have a 22 Volvo 760 and you cant just turn the lights out with the switch. At night when I get in a parking spot, the lights are shinning right across into the other lane blinding the driver in the spot directly across from me. I have to actually turn the light switch off, then shut the truck down. At that point, the headlights will go out. Then I can crank my truck back.

My trucks are old, but I have a new pickup and a new excavator. A lot of the technology is really cool, but some of it is completely unnecessary and actually counterproductive.GreenPete359, Gearjammin' Penguin, blairandgretchen and 11 others Thank this. -
