I love those chrome parking brake knobs though! You gotta be high ranking in the super trucker club to earn those!
JoeyJunk, jamespmack, pavrom and 3 others Thank this. -
Ever have a Cascadia equipped with the Bendix On Guard collision mitigation system slam the brakes on you out of nowhere?

Surprisingly,it doesn’t take much!
Gearjammin' Penguin and Oxbow Thank this. -
My employer have our T680 brake force turned down to 5%, because of the randomness these systems engage. It slows the truck, but, definitely doesn’t throw a driver forward into the shoulder belt like full application would. I’ve gotten accustomed to just slamming the throttle down, to override it. Cruddy system.

A headache rack probably would have prevented a lot of damage in this situation. Looks like the majority of the boards went through the glass but I bet there's some damage to the back of the cab. Truck will probably be in the body shop for a few weeks and come out with a 5 figure repair bill.jamespmack, Diesel Dave, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

yeah, i have to say, load securement sucked.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Yep.....it's pretty surprising as it seems to happen when it's least needed.
Doesn't speak to the whole 'load securement' dealeo thoughmjd4277 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Must be related to this guy, or they went to the same short bus seat warming academy for their load securement training.
