If you’re w2 they can’t force you unless you signed an agreement and even then you can probably argue against it. If they misclassified you as 1099 maybe.

The only state I can think of that might not require authorization to deduct anything is Missouri. There may be others, but in Texas where I live an employer can't take a dime without you authorizing it, in writing.
