There is a cable inside the black tube. When I pull the inside door handle the cable moves. Something might not be connecting at the latch part. It makes no click.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
It's not my truck so I don't want to remove all the adhesive stuff to get to see the part near the latch.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Looks like a cable instead of a rod. Maybe it’s adjustable. Maybe it’s fine. Looks like it’s still working. Maybe the latch itself is the problem. You need someone familiar with the parts. Dealership mechanic, or counter parts guy. Find out what they sell the most. Might be a very common problem. Good Luck. You’ll figure it out.

that "plastic" covering is held in place by what looks like window caulk..it is there to keep water from entering the cab...cars/trucks/SUV's all have that plastic.
it peels off quite easily, and reattaches just as easy, you will not rip it, unless you go all out ape on it.
just make sure to put it back on as near perfect as possible.
look for small pieces in the door's well (bottom of door), there are at least 2 drain holes, and with any luck, the ridges on those holes, kept the pieces from falling out.
sometimes, they are small metal pieces, sometimes plastic, that just "fall off" after lots of use.
if i can find some pics, i will post them, but start removing that plasticLast edited: Apr 22, 2023
