Hotels and bringing your lunch but depends how far you are from your house. I never could do local after realizing about what you’re going through. Do they offer sleeper cabs?

I did both P&D and linehaul in a day cab.

Not sure if I am allowed to plug this but I will post it anyway.

This is my e-bag cooler. It's a softshell cooler with a bunch of pockets for the small stuff like flashlights, maps, or medicine. I add an ice pack at the bottom and then four frozen water bottles over it. Has a bunch of room left for Gatorade bottles and whatever else you can want to eat.

I filled mine up yesterday at 10 AM and it is now 2:30 AM and the water bottles are still partially frozen after 16 hours. Worth noting I am in South Carolina.

As for heating, every terminal, hotel, and truck stop has a microwave. On the P&D side, most customers have a break room and are willing to let you use their microwave.

Pro advice: anytime you stop at a fast food place, gas station, or grocery store that has plastic utensils (especially the ones wrapped in plastic), grab a bunch and keep them in your lunch bag spare pockets. Way easier than lugging around silverware.

Most of the motels Estes puts you up in have fridges, but I always took a 12v cooler with me anyway. I did linehaul there for 2 years. Ive been to 72 of their yards.

Couple of little known facts about Estes:
The yards that have "bunk-houses", you do NOT have to stay in them. Just go to the motel. I stayed in 1 once (in Rockford, IL IIRC). Never again.

You can fuel at any Loves. You do not have to fuel in the yard. Use your points for the cooler ;)
(I got a $125 headset with mine and a lot of hot dogs)
