Yeah, didn’t think about that, we got a big compressor and that vacuum pump, it’s a bit slower, but it’ll drain and then roll it to the big tote and discharge the oil in a a couple minutes vs the longer time pumping out, but you can open drain plug and it’ll be empty.
Anymore the shop is full of tractors, dirt pans, or spray rigs so i usually let speedco do mine, but i stand there and watch.

I don't think I EVER had my oil changed by anyone but me, and I'll tell you an ironclad result, it was a mess everytime. Oh, I had buddies that tried a multitude of ways, only in the end,,,made a mess. I knew a guy that had a screw hose clamped to the drain plug. I said, "what's that for"? He said, a garage didn't tighten the drain plug and it unscrewed. The clamp/screw was supposed to eliminate that. These here days, with difficulty disposing used oil, new oil jugs, and filters that are now considered hazardous material, and the ensuing mess, plus the old lady harping on you to spend that time with her,,,probably just as easy to take it in, half hour later, you're good for another month, no muss, and no fuss. Just make sure to check the drain plug yourself. At almost $20/gallon, plus filters, for what, $250-$300 at a shop,, you don't gain much doing it yourself these days.

The wife was out there helping me pump in the new oil. After all these years shes used to me being a work ahololic. So now she just comes and takes over my projects. Some times it agervates me to no end. Or like in this case she got dirty and I didn't. Its great that she helps. But when we have 2 people that don't know what where doing it gets complicated

How many gallons is it SUPPOSED to take?
    How many miles?
SOME oil consumption is normal, some eat more than others

Oil filter usually holds a gallon too. (And if you didnt change the filter, theres a chunk of oil that simply cant drain because its in those tubes and pathways

At about 15k miles if i add 0 makeup oil with my old truck, thats about what i end up draining out too

I always turn the jug sideways, until it’s empty, then flip it up, gallon jug opening is at bottom, stops the gurgle and backsplash of oil.
Everyone has their tricks, the old M11 cummins you gotta be on top of the tire, poor oil in on top of engine which is a total pain.

It's true. Pour with the spigot on the top side at first. Cleaner, and no glug glug as air can enter if you don't go too fast.

ONLY thing i dont like about these is you dont get a chance to see shavings on magnet on oil plug, but easy enough to just pull a second plug after drain (if your oilpan has multiple holes)
