Over at Saia, we’ve been running strong all year. I just got off the extraboard and secured a run. We just got a raise top pay is .783 & $31/hr in my terminal. I couldn’t ask for anything better. They always asking for volunteers on weekend. So life is good here.
Things have been pretty good for a bit. I've been out of the truck for about two years now, give or take a few months in either direction. I'm half a week into a two week notice where I'm at now, and after that I'll be away from trucks in their entirety within IT/Cybersecurity. Most importantly my son has been pretty stable short of a couple long term set backs. All in all, I'm doing better than I deserve. The pending doom with Yellow/the UPS contract/Florida water hitting 101degrees made me think of everyone here
IIRC that location you ended up at was a little more insulated than most due to it's passthrough, right? It's wild I haven't been near LTL topics for a long time and I overheard a FXF city driver at the dock talking about how hard its been to make eight hours.
It turns out nothing is a sure thing with this company. Myself and many other drivers had the rug pulled out from under us. I took a transfer and it worked out alright.
