Problems in the Trucking Industry

So many are looking to sell their trucks. A buyer can get to the parking lot where semis are parked trying to contact the owners directly.
An owner and a buyer can get a better deal.

 

Open up a school, get a solid training system together, make it affordable, and most of all teach not just driving but professionalism, maintenance and other skills beyond driving.

 

I'm Currently, changing Carriers that I'm lease to and whats happening now is beyond a storm in the trucking industry its a Category 7 Hurricane in Trucking and it will be longer drawn out than most think because of over capacity (too much trucks available). Mismanagement to corruption caused some major trucking companies to fold because of greed. Something that isn't necessarily spoken much however is relevant. When I was speaking to a district corporate manager of a larger trucking company in my area last week about legitimate profit margins. He told me that its smaller than most think when analyzing the overall expenses when operating and running a small & large fleet regarding logistics. He said, a good majority run between the average of 6% to 10% when factoring inflation which is a small niche profit in this market. Overall operating costs is where a good majority go wrong and why so much fail before understanding this. Most companies staying a float these days have larger resevrse or subsidiaries helping out in these times.

The Supply & Demand factors dictate the market. Too much trucks and the supply of freight has slowed down.

Something ro think about and realize. Some small honest companies are barely surviving day to day. While the ones that are have setup fianacial safety nets (eg. Higher Owner Operators only, keep 2 - 3 times higher than normal insurance expense onto those Owner Operators, no real fuel discount etc.) Whiles the owners keep a low overhead expense system flowing. Point being it will work until the majority of the leased on Owner Operators find out they fall down fast. Successful Businessman usual coinside with corruption such as stealing money from those working with them in unscrupulous insidious manors. Extremely deceptive contact agreement with malicious manlipative tactics.
