I think that’s accurate. They bought enough shares to be first in line to be repaid and recoup some of the 700 million.

So gents. I think I am going to go ahead and exit the transportation field. Can't find any work.

I did score a non driving job that almost pays as well as Holland. It was unbelievable how grueling the interview was. The guy almost did not give me the job.. I've never made this many consecutive lies in a single sitting but I had to.

They had me in the most uncomfortable room I've ever sat in in my life. Literally a storage closet with one functioning computer and two chairs. I almost didn't get the job. They smelled me out like cheap cologne.

"Tell me something. Your company is Holland which is owned by Yellow. That company went kaput last week. I have a feeling you are ONLY here because your company closed their doors. You are not here because you want to fill this position, you are here because you are unemployed. The truth of the matter is you trained in too many countries, speak too many languages, and your college degree makes you too overqualified. You are a flight risk and I fear you will walk off of the job".

Oh ####. I made zero preparations for them to play hardball. "Oh no sir. I trained in Germany and England. Michelin (the tire company I am applying for) is French. France is near and dear to me".

That was a complete BULLCRUD lie. I absolutely detest France. I would much rather swim through an ocean of thumbtacks than to work anywhere else but a French company. But they pay decent and their onsite cafeteria doesn't look that bad at all after the plant tour.

The hiring guy looked at me and was torn. "Not sure what it is, but there is something about you that I like. I will recommend that your application process to move forward".

Thank God. I absolutely need a break. My coworkers aren't fairing as well.

Oh dude check this out tho I'm literally HAPPY I bought old Dominion. I spent about a grand on it when it was like $206 a share. I checked yesterday... It's almost like $420. I only have 5 shares but hey better than nothing.

Lots of red flags in that line of questioning they gave you. You’re likely to prove his instinct true because he visibly projected some next level micromanagement behavior.

That is not a leader, that’s a half assed manager who is not embodying servant leadership. He’ll always look at you as a tool in his box of options. Not a partner or asset to help succeed. Do whatever you can to get out from under his grip asap. Just my perspective having been in global corporate structures and management for the majority of my working life.

BUT, I’ve worked for a French corporation for a while now, and I will tell you that from where you are at, there’s likely a lot of fringe benefits lurking in the corporate structure that will be huge benefits to you in the long run.

Benefits like baguettes, a nice full bodied wine with hints of chocolate and notes of cherry, a beret to wear to the Christmas party? I talked to @High Stepper, and he works at a multinational French conglomerate they offer all that and more.

Here is my issue. Everything you said is true, maybe in it's entirety of your post.

I am ok. I am in good financial standings with most of my lenders. Of course I will fall behind on some financial obligations as I become more delinquent on some payments. But this will only last until my new job starts.

I am in great fortune because both of my children are good health. They require little to no direct medical attention. I can not say the same for my now former colleague. He has a daughter that is special needs. She is 15 years of age and will be restricted to a wheelchair that demands heavy maintenance throughout the year. One that must be replaced in it's entirety every five years for the rest of her life.

Those replacement cost rival the payment of a new automobile.

It's shameful how many of us lost everything with little to no fault of our own.

Yellow had a $2 billion valuation, $1.5 billion in debt and 50 million outstanding shares.

Settling the debt should leave at least $200 million, which is $4 a share. I would expect to see it hoover around $2.25 to $2.75 for the next week.

There are plenty of run of the mill otr companies out there hiring drivers. Glad to hear ya found something to do. Just saying , if ya wanna drive then there is something out there. It may not be what ya were doing where ya were at but it only has to be temporary till ya can get something comparable to where ya were at. Either way best of luck to ya an congrats on landing on your feet.
