I 2nd that motion.....when my LTL job suddenly went away I was bummed out too but I also knew the alternative ( starvation) would not be pleasant so the following week I was throwing my stuff in a sleeper truck departing omaha for NYC, that ended up being a truck that I bought and omaha to NYC became a very prolific career for a long time .
I made new friends and soon LTL became a distant memory .

I personally admire your thoughts being for your wife and kids. As they say sometimes the worst things happen from someone doing things with the best intentions! Do not starve yourself, make yourself weak and then be too sickly to go to work when the time comes!
Talk to the wife about budgeting for meals that will be more cost efficient and ensure you eat! You won’t do anyone any good if your sickly!

I am no longer communicating with you guys as R/R the driver. I understand I've been on here for the past six weeks and I've been "whiny" and drowning in self sorrow. I have been defeated, abandoned, and stripped of my dignity . Mentally I am not in the same position as I was two months ago.

Not sure how many of you have small children but mine have decided to watch a DreamWorks show called Puss in Boots. A cat in the era of the Conquistadors voiced by no other than Antonio Banderas. I managed to find the time to find historical inaccuracy. Like the primary weapon system was a rapier (identical used for fencing) and not the stated sabre used by American cavalry used for slashing. Technical differences blah blah blah.

Anyway, it chronicals someone's legendary fame to the absolute rock bottom they could hit. He eventually unburies his uniform and restarts his life with a much inferior weapon.

It was a stick but he managed to get himself out of a very dark spot.

I feel I am in the same position. It's time to quit feeling sorry for myself and continue on. It's been a ####-month and maybe a silly animated movie is enough to get me out of the rut.

I watched my truck engine basically melt down one day on the shoulder of the highway last summer. I thought it was the end of the world. 13 years running my truck *poof* finished, stick a fork in it. I was miserable about it for many months and it almost ruined us. Took a year to get settled into a new job. I'm not sure when the switched flipped but things turned out not to be as bad as I thought and actually it all turned out to be a blessing. Now the only thing that makes me mad is, I didn't hustle to get into the new job sooner and the truck didn't physically burn to the ground so I could collect some insurance money. But when it was happening in that moment and for months afterward I sure didn't think that would've been a good outcome. Good luck

Funny thing; I thought I'd be way more bummed to leave FXF than I actually am. I'm actually kind of ready for it to be over and start my new gig.

Morale among FedEx drivers that I encounter is typically pretty low, and I can’t say I’m too surprised.

Honestly, the entire outfit seems to be turning more into a clown show every day. I think the Lord blessed me by getting me out now.
