Next time you jack up the front end to grease it, put a bar in the top wheel hole and lift up n down. Have someone watch n see if the wheel moves laterally. Movement = kingpins
If you can jack it up and do it by hand= kingpins and may need to line bore the axle as well as it’s got some whooped out holes

Should be able to lift up front axle and jam pry rod under each wheel and move up and down while checking if there's play between king pin and hub
Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this. -
I have never jacked up the front end to greese it. I have two fittings one on each side. If this does not cover what your talking about then I have been neglecting my truck. I will send pictures to see if its the same thing. If its not. I just found todays lesson . thank youSiinman and Jubal Early Times Thank this.

Top and bottom of kingpin and tie rod ends. If you have disk brakes nothing else thereSiinman, Last Call, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

Never jacked up a steer axle to grease it either. 5 years of 120k+ lb gvw hauls out of some of the worst bush/oilfield roads and they still don't need kingpins.Hammer166, Siinman, Vampire and 1 other person Thank this.

I briefly worked at a place with a big 7600 International service truck. It was a 4x4 model. No idea if it used ball joints like a Dodge or if it had upper/lower kingpins.
Vampire and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this. -
Greasing KP with a load on them is better than no grease at all, but the proper way to do it is to take the weight off and then grease them.
Hammer166, Siinman, dirthaller and 3 others Thank this. -
Thank you- you haul way heavier than I do. I have much better thoughts now.
Thank you.
What's a decent jack to use?Oxbow and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
Awesome thank you.

Just any jack that’s capable. Could be a cheap 20 ton bottle Jack or a fancy air over hydraulic. Just whatever your budget can afford.Keepforgettingmypassword and Oxbow Thank this.
