Samsara eld - I used the split sleeper option the other because the it gave me the option. Never ran out of time on the 14 hour. Got done for the day and did a reset (48hr), now it shows a violation of the 14 hr clock. But when I go to roadside inspection mode it doesn't show any violation. Am I correct in thinking that as long as the inspection mode doesn't show a violation, I'm fine?

If you show your logs for that day and the next we can answer.
It also could be a bug in Samsura since you selected spit it's expecting a 7 hour sleeper, even if it's not required because you never went over your 14.Albertaflatbed, Bean Jr., lual and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes. It because you didn't show sleeper.
If you stop your 14 hour clock with a 2 or 3 hour break you must show a 7 or 8 hour sleeper period.
Just edit a portion of your reset to sleeper and the violation will go awayAlbertaflatbed, kylefitzy, Coffey and 3 others Thank this. -

All I know for sure is samsara started showing that violation a few months ago. I was so confused at firstCoffey Thanks this. -
I don’t know their rules but if you are using USA guidelines if you did not exceed your 14 (you said you didn’t), even if you did use a split sleeper exception, you don’t need to show sleeper berth for the larger period of the two.
The key here is that he never exceeded the 14 hour period in the first place.
BUT….. if he did exceed the NORMAL 14 hour period, then yes he must show sleeper berth for a minimum of 7 or 8 hours whichever is needed.ZVar Thanks this. -
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN INSPECTION IS A BLACK LINE OR A GREEN LINE BUT STILL SHOWES A ORANGE VIOLATION ICON
