My access to postal services is a bit short until next week, but if I can find a post office and get envelopes, I'll do it. Or get an email off them so I can insert the link to this page, then they can get the opinions of 15-20 other drivers and chew on it.

I've always liked soiux city and used to hang out there a bit but there are some city's in iowa where people seem to not give a hoot .
Soiux city and waterloo top my list followed closely by davenport.blairandgretchen, Siinman, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
You like Waterloo ?
Soiux City is ok .. but Waterloo .. I don't much care forwore out Thanks this. -
1. No, unless tire says its directional, it doesnt matter (never seen one on a semi
2. No, impacts exist that have it, but no tire shop has a torque sensing cutoff in use, especially if its air
3. Perhaps a remount is in order, depending on how you deal with tire balancing.
i specify and like to carry spare balance beads for every remount, steers all the way vack to trailer.
Others swear by the balancing plate/tube between the tires, but failure seems higher in those and individual differences in duals seem high enough to offset the cost of balance beads per tire.
4. not everyone at a tire shop is arrogant, but welcome to humanity, humility is nearly alwats in short supply
Not asked for, but "colored" is not a generally acceptable phrase for the past 20 years. Just say black or indian or whatever flavor of ethnicity you mean. (Or just dont mention it, by and large it doesnt really add much information unless the guy accuses you of undeserved racism) im reminded of a thread a while back, where someone thought they were being racially profiled, but it seemed obvious once they divulged their gender that it was clear that the attendant thought they were a lot lizard, not racist against them being black
(Edit: Read further in thread, see you adressed the unasked for bit, no judgement, just thought some cultural nudges might be in order depending on your neighbors/given you were a transplant to the states)Last edited: Aug 27, 2023
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Garrett Tire and Treads 518 E 4th St North Platte, Ne had a tire come apart right at the I 80 exit 177 at 4:30 pm one day, called them as I exited and ask if they could take care of my situation, rolled in there about 4:45 and was on my way by 5:00 pm. Can't say enough good about these guys, they didn't know me from Adam.Ruthless, wore out and blairandgretchen Thank this.
