The only chain tire outfit that we do business with is Les Schwab. Since we run strictly the west it's a good fit for us.
The service varies a little from store to store but they have core values and expectations for their help and if there's a problem it's usually resolved quickly and at the store level. It's like anything else, you work with them and they'll work with you.
I've only had to call their main office once in twenty years and they actually sent a sales rep out to see me about the problem. Nice.
If you're a fleet or just a steady customer they have some tire programs that can save you serious money.

I’ve gotten better service out of Chinese tires than I did with good year. It’s a shame they used to be decent tiresIH9300SBA, Siinman, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this.

Les Schawb has an excellent reputation in the tire industry. Even tho he has passed hopefully his core values continue. There are no stores in this part of the country but his name is still well known.
Big O is another one that was decent but NTW owns them now and unfortunately they were known to be the bottom feeder company that would hire all the folks that could not get hired anywhere else because they couldn't pass a drug test. Management included.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I hated them in the winter time on the drives. The steers wore faster than anything else I have ever had. So I will stay far away from them for now on unless someone I know has great luck with them again.blairandgretchen, IH9300SBA and Jubal Early Times Thank this.

During covid I heard Les Schwab went to crap but never heard anyone say if they got back to being a good shop. Would be interesting to see if they got it back together since they had great reviews before that issue.

Just sent off a flurry - to the Bauer Built store in Sioux City,IA - where I had a great experience,
And to a HR contact at Pomp's.
I don't know why I gnaw at bones like these, but I do.
Oh - follow up - @lester and I removed both rear axle wheels at his house. With an impact gun, cordless.
The wheel that was last taken off, that had been torqued correctly the last time it was serviced - no problem.
The wheel that Pomps hammered on - required a breaker bar and quite some force to remove. So, at guess - 700-900 ft/lbs ?
