It looks worse than it feels. I have had it worse. So bad I took Epsom salts baths and spread oatmeal on over half of my torso. This is just on my forearms and hands.
Gloves would have been tough running a chainsaw, which is where most of this came from. And if I would have had long sleeves, my pics would have been from the ER while I was getting treated for heat stroke.

I have the same reaction to poison ivy. Got a bad case of it about 15 years ago and thought I was going to end up in the hospital. A nurse friend finally recommended a poison ivy kit and it worked well enough to keep me out of the ER. Now when I'm around vines of any kind, it's long sleeves and gloves, and usually a hat to keep it off of my noggin.

Liquid Benadryl, topical, is best for itching IMO. When you put it on it tingles for a couple of minutes but then it is instant relief.

Well I lost out on a 2300 mile, 2700 pound warehouse to warehouse transfer and they replaced it with a 40k pound 600 mile run from Dayton to Chesapeake, va. Hopefully I don’t get stuck for the weekend after I deliver on Friday. This whole doing a reset in the middle of the week schedule I’ve been on for almost two months is a real bummer.

I got a msg from Ops telling me to contact another driver picking up at the same shipper. He had been doing skin loads, then had to sit for 3 days waiting on this load. We are supposed to go in at the same time, and we have to wait until the shipper has been paid for the stuff on our trailer before we leave, and it says in the load info to be patient (which is never a good sign). He said his is a 12'5" wide, my load doesn't say legal or oversized so who knows. He also said he cannot deliver because the receiver doesn't allow pets, even in the truck, and he has his dog with him, so I may be taking his load in the gate if we arrive near the same time, or babysitting his dog while he delivers.Lonesome, dwells40 and azheavyduty Thank this.

Yeah there’s more of that going on now, I ended up babysitting a drivers pooch at an Oil Refinery and I’ve seen Richie Brothers now says no pets. Heck some mines require you to drop your passenger off at the front gate, anything to keep the insurance folks happy…one of the reasons I decided against a dog for now, gives me something to look forward to when I retire lol.

Get Fels-naptha soap. Use it after contact. Really helps. When I logged, we would often be wading through poison oak all day. Would have to wash with the soap every bit.

Sounds like quite the cluster ####. Remember, after 3 hours after arrival, call your dispatcher, whoever that is to get the detention ball rolling.
is Cory the other driver? He’s the only one in my group that has a dog in the truck.
Lonesome Thanks this. -

I still have Daniel, haven't heard if they are training anyone yet

I showered with Fels after I wrapped up every day. That was one of my mom's go-to remedies for poison ivy, chiggers, dandruff...kinda an old timers cure all. That and Witch Hazel...Witch Hazel was the only thing that made my hands stop itching the other day. Ivarest, calamine, benadryl gel and some other OTC itch gel would stop it, but witch hazel did. I got some apple cider vinegar and baking soda for another alternative if the witch hazel stops working.Old_n_gray, dwells40, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this.
