    You cannot go wrong with DOT foods. You cannot live more than an hour away from either a terminal or drop yard. Another option you might want to consider is J&R Shugal.

    I’m gonna send you a PM to the OP. You will thank me later.

    @Chinatown,

    Leonard express is only hiring new grads that go through their training program.

    I agree; Post #23.
    DOT is one of the best reefer outfits out there right now for new cdl school grads.

    Werner did just recently lose in a major lawsuit for discriminating against a disabled person. I have no respect for such a company and I would never trust them.

    That really depends on where you live. With your proximity to Chicago, there's absolutely no reason why you have to go OTR. I started driving last year and Wemer was my first company. Both of my trainers were on a dedicated 3M account. The second guy lived not far from Werner's terminal in Joliet and he had never worked on any other account since he got his CDL. He was home every week by Friday evening and never left out again until Monday morning.

    Honestly, a lot of these so called "OTR" positions are really just flex regional anyway. You'll get regional mileage, just not always in the region you live.

    TMC came to my CDL school. I was interested. Started doing research and I hear the pay is “low”. I also hear the equipment is not always the best despite what you often hear. Not everyone gets a brand new truck. Most get ones with high mileage and those lower end Pete’s are not the most reliable. Training is supposed to be tough too.

    I don’t know much about Werner. I just know their slow trucks are always in my way.

    There's a FedEx yard in champagne once you done your 1-2 years experience, but u need doubles endorsement. When I went to the DMV it's was only 10 questions....

    Might as well get all your endorsement while your at it. More opportunities

    Tmc get your experience and find a better home if you do flat bed and learn it you would be able to dry van no problem and get at least 1 year solid at where ever you go before you leave that way you have enough experience to go a lot more places but the better places usually will want 2yrs experience.
    And don't buy a truck or lease what ever they call it, drive for a couple years till you see how everything works.

    I asked in your “parking” thread, where exactly do you live? I’m in SPI and have trucked for nearly 30yrs. I know of a lot of opportunities and have a couple that’d be ideal for you, if I knew exactly where you lived. PM me, if you don’t want to be public.
