Well all definitely have to watch out for ourselves to make sure we don't have a accident.

FYI the only way an LLC would help protect you is if you put another driver in your truck. Look at like this, you have an LLC, but you are still driving the truck, so you are still liable in the event of a wreck, and that LLC won’t do anything to protect you. I did the same thing first time I bought a truck. After discussing it with an attorney who routinely handles truck accident litigation, he said if your form an LLC for protection, you are wasting your money.

Good to know. So basically just stay sole proprietor until you basically hire a driver to work for you.

If you apply online for your EIN, you get it immediately from the IRS

If Werner loses their appeal, they should pay the judgement against their driver if they really stand behind them. If they don’t, well…we know why FCC has so many former Werner employees…

I already did that but it's not established in the system yet it can take up to 4 weeks. I can only file through mail for 2290 until it established. So I will just wait a week and try it again and then the next week if it still don't work. I'll just get all the maintenance done on the truck that should get done while it's here in Fremont. Like trans oil, diff oil, change the orings in the oil pan that will later cause low oil pressure. Overhead. Any other leaks. I'll be running my company truck still until I can run it.

I love to middle of nowhere places. That’s what I was doing where I was working. Definitely miss that.

The EIN isn't required for our FHUT, carrier pays, then it's taken out of our settlement in small increments, unless you want to pay all at once

    bzinger Thanks this.
