I think the only scale where they made me sit until the load settled down was in Virginia. And as @asphaltreptile311 said above, I hit the brake before pulling onto their scale to get the product rocking. Especially if I have a real heavy load.

Going to Houston. They couldn't get me any closer than that to Tulsa so I can go home to get all my stuff so I'm gonna deadhead from Houston up to Tulsa. They already set up a deadhead order for me to go to Clovis after I get my stuff but I don't know what I'm doing from there

Do you guys have bunk heaters in your trucks? I was surprised when I got in this truck that I don't have one. This truck is really gonna rack up some engine hours if I'm idling year round. I guess it's not really my problem though, not my money.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

Today's the day. I start orientation in about 35 minutes. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I have pump training tomorrow. I can't update any info about the hotel or any of that because I live 45 minutes away and I'm just driving here from home. Thanks again to everyone on this thread for being so informative and helpful with answering questions.

Virginia and Florida will have you sit there for as long as it takes the load to settle. I have had an over axle ticket from VA so they especially want to get axle weights so they can write them up. Oregon also wrote me an over axle. Florida didn't seem to care unless you were over gross. Had a few of those too from FL scale houses.

Idle for heat and air. That electric engine fan kicking on and off will get on your nerves as it shakes the truck. I sleep best when it is cool enough to sleep with the engine off.

If you are still in an old style truck you won't get the air release. I prefer the older style trucks, they didn't have any of the problems that plague the latest model.
