They’ll have to know your situation to determine what best suits your needs

Broker depending on trailer type.
Then one that’ll pay.

Can you sustain yourself 30-60 days without income, with fuel money/insurance etc costs, about 1500-1900/ week fuel costs alone.

 

Do you already have your CDL? Endorsements?

Just quit and turn in truck now.

How many years experience do you have ?
Is your experience with flatbed ?or van ?reefer? or tanker ?
And how much money set aside for this business start up ?

anyone , well , watching some of the recently posted accident videos ,almost anyone can drive ,

Making a good steady profit while finding the loads and maintaining the rig , is not so easy .

you need a good mechanic , a good accountant , and a lot of drivers sign their rig on with a large company that has their own direct freight .

that’s what I did .
Becaue they paid a combination of a daily rate , a per stop fee, and milage , and detention after 3 hours , and I was running regional , so home nearly every night .

And I was a pretty decent mechanic so I could fix all the small stuff , and I had a rig with not one single computer or sensor on it , so any problems were mechanical items or electrical wiring ,
I carried tools and a lot of spare parts like brake cans and lights, spare tire etc

and I didn’t have to find my own loads , I pulled the company’s trailer with freight in it that they had a long term contract for hauling , mostly auto parts destined for new auto assembly plants .
