Broker blues

    My point is many times they aren't moved at all. I've been direct with shippers that also use brokers. They weren't paying too much from the start but that didn't stop brokers from taking a sizable bite before they posted them anyway hoping someone would move them.

    I think one of the $2 buc a mile guys just bought a bridge on one of the turnpikes plus a semi that got hit by falling bridge beams ..

    Did he make it through scales like that? Wyoming once gave me a hard time over the staggering of a load I had, that was barely 10 feet wide. Went out there with a plumbob and all measuring to make sure I didn't have more than six inches of stagger. I had all my banners, flags, etc. But they ripped me and almost didn't let me go, if that staggering would have been more than Wyoming allowed I would have been stuck there until the load got reworked.

    Oh it was the first one I come to after entering Wyoming, heading east on Interstate 80 out of Utah. I can't remember the name of the port of entry. I remember it was in 2018. So they may not be as they were then with the oh we are gonna measure this and that and if you're out of tolerance you're out of service. But I kid you not. I couldn't believe they were THAT picky they even had the plumbob.

    Got me at 14'8" tall after dark March this year.. :rolleyes:

    Friggin wind got under a load of saplings. $440 court summons, no dot recordable inspection, on my way fixed with one extra strap..
