Your 2-3 hours showing up is from the period before your first off-duty break that extended your 14 hour clock. By taking 8 hours off in the sleeper, you completed your 10 hour break.

It's not a programming glitch. It's literally how the law is written. For a split sleeper to count, it has to be 7-8 hours in the sleeper berth. No other duty status counts.

It does this because of the people that have a second job. It requires you to “sleep” before you can drive again.
And you may be able to edit that anyway.
