I see an awful lot of refrigerated trailers going cheap in the South East, or so it seems.Got rid of my last one several years ago, don't really miss it.
Rates low, too many trailers getting old, drivers tired of the BS of temp controlled trucking,or am I reading this information wrong ?

I'm not sure about the supply and demand dynamics between freight-trucks. But I believe with inflation that set in starting in late 2021- and reefers went from $65-$70k to $120k-man carriers withheld purchases. Maybe now time to cycle out the old trailers. I'd recently heard on business news that supply/demand is close to equal 1 month ago, and projected to get better for carriers in 2024.

Long haul 3.15-3.25 a mile hauling ice cream. Nah, I’ll stay reefer.
Fix for old worn trailers is buy new ones. Stay out of east coast.Rideandrepair, RubyEagle, KB3MMX and 1 other person Thank this. -
Fix for finding a driver that wants to deal with the extra headaches of the job. Extra pay or have the driver drive a truck that is blast driving. Something he or she would appreciate. A truck, a driver wish that they were driving. So no, ProStar or Cascadia.

I just bought a 2015 Great Dane to replace my totaled utility, can’t get a new one still until the second half of 2024, with the supply crunch it seems everyone held on to what they could and basically turned a lot of them into scrap, and are dumping them as the new ones come in
