That's why I got so pissed at night dispatch a while back about never knowing where trailers are or who has what and wanting me to go the opposite direction to get a empty when there's one on the way... if you're gonna do that at least send the trailer pickup macro, so they know where they are

Nothing terrible. Just cabbage hill (apparently also known as Deadman Pass..fun) and maybe also Snoqualmie pass depending on where you go afterwards. So in other words…pretty terrible. But at least it’s not I-70 west of Denver or Donner Pass..?

On the topic of mountain passes, what do you think is the most challenging?

My nomination is Fancy Gap. A much longer grade than it looks and people are always smoking their brakes by the time they’re at the bottom. And if there’s fog and/or winter weather, well..lord help you

I spent my first winter in trucking out there. A long nose Pete pulling a reefer running CA/WA. Ya pickup winter driving pretty quick going over a pass every day lol.. Snoqualmie, 4th of July, Ashland, Cabbage Patch, the Grapevine, Tehachapi, Donner...... and now I hate winter in the Midwest!:biggrin_25525:

How challenging it is depends on how familiar you are with it. I’m not familiar with the big hills out east so I’m cautious. But I’ve been down many of the passes out west tons of times. Used to run over Lost Trail and Lolo Pass multiple times a week so they were second nature, but ask @bzinger his feelings on Lost Trail and they’re very different than mine. Lol

Beasore Summit. 4,000 ft drop in 12 miles, 2 lane rd. If you've seen the movie The Great Outdoors, the opening scene is this road. We'd go off 3-5 times a day hauling logs. Screen shot of the map.

First off…. All you that are in the weather south of me in the Midwest PLEASE be careful….

For the most challenging mountain pass I’ve dealt with in my career? I’d say it’s a tie between Monarch in CO and maybe Cabbage in a snow storm.

First pic is on 93 outside of Radium Hot Springs BC. Followed the plow up to the top as he was sanding. Second pic was at the historical marker coming down the Idaho side of Lost Trail.

I don’t think I ever answered this but it’s a TRP windshield. I don’t think this 2nd windshield is leaking at all. However water drips from right in front of the sun visor and also from the big trim piece above the drivers door.

    Typical PACCAR quality I guess
