What website do you guys like using when searching for a new gig? I don't want to sign up to a bunch of different ones and get spammed with calls

You don’t need to use a website. Go straight to the source. Look for companies that are in your area, or offer the type of work you’re interested in and apply directly on their site.

A career website will have you digging through the same pile of trash as everyone else. Most of the postings there are for crap jobs, anyway.

In the current CDL job market -- do as Frank (above post) suggested -- go "off the job grid"....& apply directly with companies in your area of interest to you.

Bonus: talk to one or more of their current drivers, if you can -- to find out about pay, benefits, work environment...& working conditions. Sometimes you can catch one of them refueling at a truckstop near their terminal or yard.

Cruise the company websites for openings &/or application links. Submit a COMPLETE online application on their websites. Wait about a week; if you don't hear from them in that time, give them a call....& just say you were calling to check in on the status of your on-line application.

Look for companies that are within 100 miles of your residence; better still -- a commute to a terminal or yard that is less than 30 minutes away would be ideal.

The above-described strategy will work -- assuming you do in fact have the required CDL experience, the needed CDL endorsements (if any), a good (clean) driving history....& little to no criminal record.

Also: be very patient with all this. The CDL job market is rather tight right now, & will likely stay that way for a while, at least.

Keep the Forum here posted on your progress.

If you have specific company questions, someone else here on the Forum may well have a good answer -- or know where to get it.

Appreciate the info. I got little over 5 yrs in now and clean MVR. Some OOS on PSP but I don't think that it's that much of a big deal. I like to stay out couple months at a time so it doesn't really matter where the terminal is. Will keep you posted on where I end up.

A lot of companies require that you fill out an application on Intelliapp which works through the Driver Pulse app.

Filling out any online application will yield spam texts. Anyone who actually calls you first is likely a 1099 fraudster from Chicago. Avoid any 1099 outfit from the greater Chicago area.

You may receive "offers" to complete intelliapp applications for various companies through Driver Pulse, but it's on the app, and not on your phone as a call or text.

Filling an Intelliapp application creates an electronic copy of your application that you can edit when needed, and makes it easier to apply for different companies since your application is already "filled out".

Driver Pulse will alert you to progress changes to the application process beginning at 10%. Driver Pulse will also give you tasks to complete that your potential employer may require like a copy of your CDL or medical card.

Having an application on Intelliapp will streamline the once tedious application process with the ability to apply for a job in minutes. It also allows messages to be sent to recruiters as well.

Dang! This isn't even a paid advertisement. Hurry, while stocks last!

Did you look at the job section on this site? Depending on your zip code you can find all kinds of options. You can get leads from members on here is you post your location and the sector of trucking that interests you.
