But what is the name of a j hook? I've been trying to find them online at like us cargo control and whatnot but I cannot find it and nothing is popping up under j hook.
I only just recently started using them, and want to find some with a higher working load limit than 6,700 lb, if those even exist
Please and thank you
I know this may seem kind of stupid

J - Plate tie downs.

Doing a search on blairandgretchen suggestion, and with your weight capacity reference in mind, when you do a search on "J Plate WLL for flatbed trailers", you'll also have to know what trailer you have and the compatibility with those higher WLL plates. For instance, I found reference to 7200 for East and one with reference to 7900 for trailers built since 2015. Now, considering these are from Internet searches and we all know how accurate the information is out here (sarcasm) make sure you fine tune your research to make sure you don't waste your money on something you can't use.

For the ignorant amongst us - how do you use these?cke, CAXPT, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this.

There’s a couple of grooves that run the length of the trailer on the deck. The square ‘j plates’ have a small j hook on one end, that hooks into the groove.
Then you attach securement to the plate.
They have their uses,MACK E-6, cke, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this. -

They're probably rated to the tiedown ratings on your trailer. No point having a 10k rated tiedown on one side attached to a stake pocket rated at 6600. At least for my usage they're one sided. You also have to consider it's pulling against the trailer extrusion, so that's probably not rated much more than the J-hook, if not the reason for the rating.
