Pulled the hub on my trailer to work on the brakes and change the seal and found this, that look like a legit repair or someones hack job and I should just go ahead and get the spindle replaced?

There are places that will come out to you and repair it. Try searching for Axle Doctor or something like that in your area. Some will put an entirely new piece on and others will put a sleeve on it.

It just had the outer bearing journal done and not the whole spindle.
Looks like a pro job to me. I say send it.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Axle surgeon will come to you. Cost around 1600 for the last one I had done. All they do is repair. You must tear it down and put it back together. Honestly though it looks solid. Is it straight? I’m not sure if I would run it or not.
Flat Earth Trucker and exhausted379 Thank this. -
Looks like a hack job to me. I've had Axle Surgeons do probably 50 jobs for me, and have seen a few others.
All replaced the whole spindle. Maybe there's a way to do that reliably, but I haven't seen it offeredFlat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
