With how crappy rates are conestoga is better.
No point in tarping with cheap rates, can at least save time with conestoga.
Biggest benefit for flatbed when is market is normal oversize loads can pay very good.

If conestogas they have are comparable with flatbed load capacity, I would take it. But I believe they are not CA legal, as they spread more than 10 feet from end to end and are longer than 40 feet from the king pin.

You can get a California legal flatbed Axle set up and get conestoga system added.
Get a good system and all aluminum trailer and with normal truck you can still haul 48k loads if not more. -
The 40' bridge law only applies to 53' trailers. A previous employer had 48' fixed spread axle conestogas along with 48' double drop glass trailers and we never had an issue in Cali.beastr123 Thanks this.

What is flatbed? Trailer that conestoga can be mounted on.
Can flatbed be driven? Yes. Can the conestoga be driven? No, it has no wheels.
