I'm going to orientation starting October 7th. Can any former or current drivers tell me anything good or bad about them or stuff too look out for?
Any Prime drivers out there?

You could most likely get all the information you want of YouTube for prime

I drove for them about 9 years ago and I wasn’t a rookie, for a mega carrier they were actually a decent outfit. Equipment was kept up and if you needed something they took care of it. I went on with them because I wanted to be a trainer I already had over 5 years experience by that time but I was running west coast mountains running 80k pounds all the time so my mpg sucked and my fleet manager wanted me to have better mpg before I could train, I thought it was bogus so I sent a respectful email to prime headquarters explaining the situation.
to my utter surprise the president himself called me the next day or few days after to hear me out and he put me on the phone with the west coast terminal manager who told me they would put me on the trainer list after my home time. I ended up finding a local job after my home time so I didn’t go back (still currently with that same company to this day) but I would reccomend prime assuming they’re the same and haven’t changed for the worseKnucklehead, Blagoje, Concorde and 2 others Thank this. -

tells me the fleet manager knows nothing about trucks, and should be replaced.
Anyone telling someone hauling 80k+ through mountains should get fuel mileage with flatland drivers is to … simple minded to be in that position.Knucklehead, Blagoje, Concorde and 4 others Thank this. -
I should add it was the president of prime that called me not the United States obviously but I’m sure some idiot will think that and call bs
HiramKingWilliams and Concorde Thank this. -

I got my start with Prime a few years ago, it's a good starter company if you want to run reefer. I had a good trainer and they kept me moving enough to where I had to learn how to split the sleeper pretty early on.
There's some hand holding going on, but it's a starter company after all. As mentioned above, they do care about mpg's so if you don't mind going a little slower you can get the fuel bonus. I would highly recommend to go company to start off with...they won't try to pressure you to go lease but they'll totally let newbies lease which I don't think is a good idea.
Let me know if you have any further questions...happy to help.
