So Im driving a 2017 mack granite tri axle the factory coax (junk) runs through the mirror. So im looking to upgrade the coax and see that wilson makes an 18’ coax with a removable end. Can i cut the end off the factory coax where it comes out the mirror and pull the new cable through with the old cable? Or is the factory cable all tied to other stuff inside? Thanks in advance

It runs though the mirror and into the door, I don't know where it goes after that but I'm sure it makes a few more twists and turns. I don't think it would be as easy as just pulling it through. All the Macks at my last job, mine included, just had the coax cable run from the dash out the door to the passenger mirror.

My truck the cb mounts overhead which is where the coax cable is…how would you recommend routing the new cable? -

Try pulling a string through and if it works pull the new one back.

Thats kinda the route i was going with the old cable and tape the new one to it and pull it through….just wasnt sure if it was taped together inside somewhere to other stuff….its a company truck so i cant really tear things apart -
I'd use a female to female connector. If the tape came loose you'll be sitting there eating your balls

You'll need to start disassembling the mirror, A-pillar trim and headliner to properly rerun the coax, there are a lot of twists and turns. Also on some Mack's, even though you might have a dual coax/antenna, only one antenna is for the CB, the other is for the regular radio.

No reason why a fella cant find a different way through cavitys in trucks body...Dont have to run it like stock..I did it like that without goin goin factory route on a cpl cascadias, mounted radio on the dash with double sided hd tape..

I use a small plastic fish tape ( Amazon ) put plenty of dish soap to make it slippery.
The coax will likely screw into a splitter behind the radio somewhere.
I would throw that splitter out the window and run each coax separate.
II you got heated mirrors I would not mess with it. Screw up a wire and spend a bunch of $$$ to fix...
